EAT THAT: Almonds and their benefits !





If you are looking for a healthy snack on the go, then almonds should be one of your first choices on the list of things to take. Almonds can easily add to your cereal, trail mix, or have them on their own. The recommended amount of almonds is about one hand full which is about ¼ cup, each serving is about 162 calories. Let’s face it, if you’re like me you are not going to stop at a handful. The recommended amount gives you about 13 grams of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, 3.5 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein and 75 mg of calcium.  All these added benefits in almonds may decrease the risk of heart disease. Look down below, I have added a few good reasons why you should be eating this nutritious packed snack!

 Almonds help build strong bones and teeth this is possible due to the fact the almonds have phosphorus
2. Almonds can help lower bad cholesterol
3.  Eating almonds can reduce the risk of a heart attack!
4. Riboflavin and L-Carnitine found in almonds boost brain activity and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease
5.  Almonds lower the rise in blood sugar and insulin after a meal

Hopefully after reading just a few of these facts almonds, maybe you might start eating them more often!

Note: Probably not the healthiest thing to do but coat some almonds in some brown sugar and throw them in the oven for a few minutes, its pretty good.
